Tiny Kingdoms

in Le case di Ezio Frigerio, a cura di Franca Squarciapino / Ezio Frigerio’s Homes, edited by Franca Squarciapino.
Umberto Allemandi &C., Torino, 2010

Ezio Frigerio is not only the world-famous Italian set designer who gave us legendary performances such as Arlecchino servitore di due padroni, created at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan and followed by endless tournées, or Simone Boccanegra, Le nozze di Figaro, Falstaff at La Scala. He also designed highly personal houses, rich with culture and recollections, but above all imaginative, free, liberated from the rules of the stage imposed by author and director. Frigerio’s homes, in Rome or Chartres, Turkey and Paris, are small private masterpieces presented here for the first time.
