An artist with a twofold training grown up in the midst of avant-garde ideals and the dressmaking practice of scissors and fabrics, in her many performances Odette Nicoletti followed an utterly personal course that made her a reference among Italian theatre costume designers.
An elegantly concise draughtswoman, she broke away from the philology of historical costumes to reinvent atmospheres and inspirations.
Her fellowship with Roberto De Simone and Mauro Carosi led her often to La Scala where she left a personal mark which blended determined incisiveness with dreamy poetry: in her theatre surprises are not only a technical and linguistic resource but actually the final cause.
